The electrical contractor industry in Switzerland is a business sector that employs around 40,000 people and generates annual sales of approx. CHF 8 billion. The fields of activity range from electrical installation to telematic and network technology, right up to alternative energy systems such as solar power or heating pumps; from planning and tendering offers to advisory and sales, right up to installation and maintenance of the equipment and systems.

VSEI, the professional and employers’ association of the electrical contractors industry, which does not have compulsory membership, currently has around 2,000 members in 19 sections. This is 70% of all electrical contractors in Switzerland, distributed across all cantons. Therefore, VSEI can not only appear as the representative of the electrical contractor industry for all of Switzerland; but this high degree of organisation is also a clear sign of benefit and quality of the association’s products and services.

This purpose is “ensuring and advancement of political and commercial interest of the sectors of electric and telematic installation”. The association offers its services in German, French and Italian. Customers are association’s members as well as non members (e.g. electric and installation companies, electric production engineers, electricity works, external companies, schools, publics … etc.)

One of the main areas of responsibility of VSEI is vocational and professional education and training and advanced training of our industry’s staff.
